Hypertension - An Introduction

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

Hello - I’m Dale Calder, married with two adult sons and I live in Auckland, “The City of Sails”, New Zealand.

Some years ago I was diagnosed with elevated hypertension (high blood pressure) and at that time rather foolishly I chose not to heed some well-meaning advice from my doctor, on the steps I needed to take to get my blood pressure down. When you are 40 and feeling reasonably fit and well - you are less inclined to take yourself out of the comfort zone and make the needed changes to diet and implement an exercise regime.

Now some 20 years later … and after a couple of scares, the penny has dropped and I’ve returned to practise Transcendental Meditation (after getting off track); put in place a healthy eating plan, and open myself up to a bit more exercise.

In my next post I will be defining hypertension - which has been termed the ’silent killer’ (for those not fully conversant with it) and discuss exactly why it is vital we keep our blood pressure at manageable levels.

In the meantime I suggest you take the time to check out Dale’s Top Hypertension Sites Directory where you can view a number of downloadable digital products providing you with natural ways to treat high blood pressure and bring it back to acceptable limits. When there you can check out some of the other complementary products to be found under such headings as ‘Fitness’, ‘Alternative’, ‘Remedies’,  ‘Medicine’, ‘Weight Loss’ etc.

You may wish to also check out my weight loss program at: Fat-And-Flab-Meltdown and my Meditation and Yoga For U blog for some interesting complementary articles.
